Papizilla Poetry Jam #2
February 6, 2013 8 Comments
Step into my web, said the spider to the fly. Today we go to a darker side of Papizilla’s poetry. Recently my Dad spent about a week in the Hospital. During my visits with him I could hear the calls going out over the loudspeakers. Code Blue among other codes. But the Code Blue caught my attention. Seeing all of the Nurses react to that was a sight. It must have been on our floor too, though I did not hear that part of the call. It was a very ordered kind of chaos. At least what I could see from the “comfort” of my visitors chair in the room. It made me think though, and in thinking my thoughts which were already concerned out came this poem. I think you will enjoy it.
With a touch
The line goes flat
A call goes out
There is no doubt
Blue it says, Code Blue
Rushing and hurrying
To a room, the ER or ICU
back and forth
Panic and dread
Fills the room
A family weeps
For impending doom
An eerie calm descends
upon the Nursing Staff
They know my work
Yet fight, FIGHT on your behalf
Cries of why, WHY?
Will go unanswered
Another extinguished light
By my hungry night
Do you know me
I have known you
Our time will come
It is our destiny
There you have it, a little darker than what I am used to, I normally like them funny. Not much funny about that one. Anyhow, like it? Love it? Let me know in the comments. Thank you for stopping by.

Love it. Much respect to the ones that hold their sh*t together to help others.
Thank you. You seem to be the only one who did. I guess people don’t like “serious” Papizilla….
Nothing wrong with dark. Nothing at all.
Yay! Someone else liked it. I haven’t seen approval numbers this low in weeks.
